4 Questions to ask yourself

There are so many things believers take for granted, things that we don’t take time to consider and should. One of these being our salvation, the most important aspect of our life. There are four question every believer needs to ask themselves;

1. Why do we need to be saved? John 3:3; Jesus answered and

said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born

again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

If there were no God, or heaven and hell, why would anyone

desire to be saved, because we are saved from what?

But if there is a God, could salvation be more than not going

to hell, and going to heaven? 1 John 1:3-4; that which we

have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may         have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the       Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

2. How are we saved? Rom 10:9-11; that if you confess with your

mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has

raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the

heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

We need to recognize who He is, and our desperate need

to be forgiven and reconciled.

Forgiveness without reconciliation has no meaning or purpose.

It is never anything we do, but what He has done for us.

3. How do we know we are saved? Gal 5:22-24; But the fruit of

the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness,

faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is

no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh

with its passions and desires. 1 John 3:14; We know that we

have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren.

He who does not love his brother abides in death. 1 John

5:18; We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but

he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked

one does not touch him.

If you are saved, born again, you are a new creation; 2 Cor 5:17-18 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Gal 6:15; For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.

As a new creation there is nothing you do to be different,

you are different.

This does not mean that we never fall to sin, but that we can no longer be sinners. (Practicing sin will bring us to confession or repentance, but will not be something we can continue in.)

4. What are we to do after we are saved? We are to Love, worship, glorify and serve the Lord. Deut 6:5; You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Ps 29:2;  Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Isa 42:12; Let them give glory to the Lord, And declare His praise in the coastlands.

Everything else, evangelism, good works, and all the operation of the gifts of the Spirit are an outflow of our love and worship.
